Our 5 year plan for refurbishment
We have been busy planning for the future here at OAS.
With our values in mind, we looked at what we need to do to keep ahead of industry changes, maintain the latest technology as well as delivering on our commitments to people, customers, quality, and sustainable investment.
Our new owner has already committed around 1 million to the plans over the next few years. For a small CRO that’s a huge commitment, but one we are confident in!
Those of you that have been to the site will know it’s an old building that can be tricky to maintain, but with some love and care we plan to transform it to a custom designed purpose-built practical working laboratory space. The lab team are directly involved in the design planning so we make sure it works for them.
We have already begun with some simple re-organisation of spaces and decoration.
- Upgrading air conditioning to cover wider areas and replace older models with more environmentally friendly versions
- Redesigning the lab spaces to a more open and useable space that accommodates our growing team
- Creating dedicated spaces for low level analysis
- Investing in infrastructure to ensure we future proof for extraction
- Turning our warehouse into useable laboratory space with customised designs
We are also very excited to announce that we plan to invest in equipment to improve efficiency and be able to offer a wider scope of services.
This includes:
- A brand new ICP-OES
- A brand new ICP-MS which will be coupled with HPLC to offer elemental speciation for Arsenic and Chromium
- We have already ordered a new ICP-OES from Agilent which the team are very excited about!
We are on a massive journey, and it really is just beginning.
This year alone we have taken the leap to move to digital and have made such an impact, the team are truly astounding with every effort they make to support the business through these exciting developments.
