Oxford Analytical Services Limited is an analytical chemistry testing facility working under GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) Regulations.

Our core business includes analytical method development and validation, storage stability trials, 5 batch analysis and physical chemical testing for biocides and other agrochemicals.

And we are currently looking for a fun loving, hard working Laboratory Analyst  to join our Bicester family.

What the role involves:

You will be working with the support of the Management team alongside a small team of analysts and Study Directors. The main functions will include:

  • To carry out various laboratory tasks in compliance with GLP, to include method validation and determination of active content using various analytical equipment, wet chemistry techniques and physical testing
  • To support the Management with the maintenance and calibration of equipment as required
  • To interact with Sponsors in sending results and answering queries as needed
  • To develop skills and understanding of GLP and the regulations governing the work our Sponsors require i.e. CRD requirements, SANCO and plant protection guidelines
  • To support with the preparation of technical reports and excel calculation sheets
  • To ensure you maintain and up to date training record and undertake training activities as required
  • To always work in a safe manner and proactively support health and safety initiatives
  • To support managing stock levels, chemical waste handling, storage and disposal
  • To support with carrying out COSHH assessments and writing analytical methods
  • To continuously develop your skills in line with GLP requirements and training programs assigned to you to progress within the company

What we are looking for:

  • Strong technical skills and qualifications in analytical chemistry – essential
  • Experience of using (some or all) techniques such as IC, GC-FID, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-OES – essential
  • Some experience with wet chemistry techniques and physical/chemical testing – essential
  • Good understanding of the OECD principles of GLP – preferred
  • Experience working within a regulated laboratory environment – preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word for technical, well-presented report writing – essential
  • Excellent analytical skills using excel or chromatography software for generating calculations – essential
  • Understanding of physical testing/storage stability requirements – preferred
  • Method development experience in analytical chemistry with a range of formulations ideally with knowledge of SANCO/3030/99 Rev 5 – preferred
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and maintain high standards of work –essential
  • Ambition to grow and develop into a GLP Study Director, working across multiple disciplines – essential
  • Ability to work well independently and with others on different projects – essential
  • Ability to manage own workload in line with given timelines – essential
  • Experience using any of OpenLab, MagicNet, Masshunter, Asana or Sevron – preferred
  • Someone who has read this full brief and is not put off by hard but rewarding work – essential

What we offer:

A friendly and welcoming working environment. Hours are Monday to Friday – 7.5 working hours per day. Flexi starts between 8.30 and 9am. Finish between 4.45 and 5.30pm. Lunch generally 30-45 mins.
