Residue Studies

Over the past 16 years Oxford Analytical has built up a wide variety of residue analysis methods for most of the pesticides and herbicides found in use today. For reference, we have access to over 100 analytical procedures for assays of active ingredients and a library of individual study methodologies which have been successfully developed in the past.
1

Generally, our methods are designed to meet the needs of our clients. Many methods account for typical breakdown products to form a residue definition for the active ingredient as a whole.
2

Analysis for residues usually forms part of a harvest or decay study conducted for registration purposes. However we may also act as a central laboratory to manage samples from field trials from a variety of companies engaged primarily on European studies.
3

Equally we can organise a full registration package in collaboration with other companies in the
Oxford Agriculture Group.
5

For any new products we can develop methods of analysis, along with full validation, recovery and associated freezer storage stability trials.
6

We always aim to be flexible and will work with our clients to design a package to meet their budget constraints as well as any rigorous demands on timescale.
7

We are happy to advise on best practices for sample gathering. Generally samples should be received frozen, ready for analysis alongside a fresh sample to enable freezer storage stability tests to be conducted.
